Kotare 7.5m Custom Design

We first me Craig, Kotare’s owner at the 2022 Hutchwilco Boat Show. After a thorough review of our boats, extensive discussions with the team and a later sea trial, where Craig was impressed with the performance and softness of the ride he signed up for his custom build.

The design merges the fundamentals of the Innovision hull and plumb bow design with a custom transom layout, striking cabin design featuring pilot house windows, custom seating arrangement and unique finishing’s including extensive use of teak.

Craig loves to fish, as does his wife, a chef, so Kotare truly is a fishing weapon, set up with everything required including live take and live bait tanks, tuna tubes, outriggers, two rows of rocket launchers, and a unique bait station. However, safety and comfortable overnighting utilities were equally important with a young family and helped guide the transom design and internal layout. The transom is fully enclosed with the lockable transom door on the starboard side.

Kotare was entered into the 2023 Hutchwilco Fishing Boat up to 8m category, taking out the gold medal. The judges were impressed with both the practical fishing capability of the boat but also the exceptional level of finish. There is no doubt that the collaborative approach with Craig’s extensive involvement and vision of what he wanted helped yield this outstanding result.
