Penguin III - IV656 Explorer

Innovision Boat: IV656
Style: Explorer
Launched: April 2022

Toshima a very experienced fisherman and boat owner had been using his 6.5m Penguin 11 boat built by a different company for 9 years but felt there were some limitations.

He saw an article on Innovision Boats, did some research and got in touch with the team resulting in his purchase of the IV656 Explorer.

There are big differences between my previous 6.5m Penguin II and my current Penguin III (Innovision 656). The largest differences are a roomy cabin and a comfortable ride.

My previous boat has a large cockpit space for fishing, but the cabin is not large enough for me to sleep comfortably. I could sleep with my two kids (12 years old and 14 years old) in the cabin comfortably on the first overnight trip with Penguin III.

The boat is stable and behaves more gently in an uncomfortable sea condition. The autopilot works very well, and I can let the autopilot to helm while I’m dealing with fish on the line at game fishing.

The cockpit space is large enough for 4 people to fish.

The “cage” out of the stern can take another two people to fish if necessary. When the sea condition is not bad, the boat can cruise between 20 through 26 knots with 0.9 mile/Litter fuel economy with 5 adults on board.

Considering the weight and size of the boat, this is a good performance. Especially, I was impressed the boat performs well in a quite large bandwidth of the speed. I’ve gone fishing more than 20 times on Penguin III by myself or with friends/kids, and always caught good number of fish. Because I could go to remote points comfortably when I couldn’t find any good fish on close points
