IV414 MINO ‘In Survey’

We recently handed over this fab little boat boasting big performance to owner Cory. It was our first boat built to ‘In Survey’ standards and has some nifty design features.

What does it mean to have a boat In Survey?

Generally, a commercial vessel must have a certificate of survey. This survey checks the vessel is designed, built, operated and maintained to meet specific National Standards for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) requirements. A step above the CPC audit, it looks thoroughly at buoyancy and stability, design, and electrical specifications.

Cory runs an operation to cull invasive catfish in the Rotorua lakes district as well as operations against invasive weed species through Te Mana Roto trust. Previously operating out of a Stabi-craft, Cory was looking for an upgrade and loved the look of our IV414 MINO.

We have designed in different features to optimise his operation such as a custom seating arrangement to facilitate more floor space and significant dry locker storage. A load rated davit arm for lifting in heavy loads and a special mounting bracket for a Minn Kota.

The surveyor was very impressed, in particular with the boats stability and it is rated for four people. Cory is now a few weeks in use and has this to say:

“What a ride, so many positive comparisons. I still can’t get over how smooth into the chop it was and how stable and balanced into the angled surface waves. Less rolling than the 6mtr!!!!”.

  • 50hp Mercury Marine

  • Minn Kota

  • Custom seating

  • Custom Minn Kota Bracket
